Hey y'all! Happy Friday! I am working my third Friday in a row, and trying to see the good side because Fridays are crazy days and probably one of my least favorite days to work. The good news is that I get the weekend off! In an effort to focus on the positive things in life, I'm sharing five of my current favorite things.
1. I cannot get enough of the book 31 Days to Becoming a Happy Wife . I've read a lot of marriage books over the past couple of years, but this one is probably one of my top two favorites.
2. Free coffee at Chik-fil-a for the month of February. We may or may not be addicted to coffee by the end of this month.
3. My new pens that write silky smooth. If you're a nurse and/or waitress (or maybe just a girl), you'll recognize the importance of a good pen. Although this particular brand came recommended from my friend's husband who is neither a nurse nor a waitress. He obviously gets it too.
4. Streams in the Desert is my daily devotional this year and it's rocking my socks off. My parents have read it and loved it for years, and I hadn't jumped on the bandwagon. I'm so glad I did this year. Have you ever read it?
5. Conan videos on Youtube. I've never really watched any of his stuff, but this week I'm finding out that he's HILARIOUS. But how many of you already knew that? I especially loved watching him and Dave Franco get on Tinder and couldn't stop laughing when he interviewed Rebel Wilson . "We didn't do drive bys, just drive thrus".
What are your favorites lately? Can anyone suggest a funny TV show? {We finished Modern Family and are feeling lost.}
I haven't been able to do a Friday post in awhile and I miss doing them!!! I LOVE new pens and may have to try that one out - although I'm not always crazy about fine print. Modern Family os always one of my favorites to watch but I've also falling in love with the Goldbergs! Have a Great Weekend off!
ReplyDeleteWe like Parks & Rec and The Middle for funny shows!
ReplyDeleteHaha great minds think alike- we've watched most of the middle already and watched one episode of parks & rec. I didn't think parks & rec was particularly funny but I also thought that about odeon family the first couple episodes so I'll have to give it another shot. Thanks for the suggestions!
ReplyDeleteAhhh I'll have to try the Goldbergs! And yeah if you don't like fine print these aren't the pens for you haha, but appreciate that you love a good pen! :)
ReplyDeleteParks & Rec is an acquired taste. I didn't think it was funny at all the first 4-5 episodes, but once you get used to the humor I think it's really funny :)

I LOOOVE a good pen too. My student teaching supervisor got me hooked on those bic gel inky ones. And they come in fun colors for grading! Also I'm so glad you mentioned your devotional--my sister-in-laws and i are looking for a new one to study together.
ReplyDeleteAhhh Julie I think teachers are the other profession that's gotta have some good pens! :) And definitely check that devotional out, I am loving it! I also got my Mom "Jesus Calling" by Sarah Young (I did it last year) and she's been really enjoying that one as well. That's so fun you get to do it together with your sisters-in-law!
ReplyDeleteGood to know--I'm going to check them both out. And yeah, we started meeting up bc none of us had Bible studies at our respective churches. Is your fam closeby in Colorado? :)
ReplyDeleteThat's so great! So you guys are able to meet in person and do it? And my in-laws are about an hour away but my parents and brother are like 7 hours away so not really unfortunately :( and one brother is actually overseas for a year.
ReplyDeleteYeah, we all live about 15 mins away from each other....which sounds like we all live on a commune compared to 7 hours away! That probably makes going to visit them all the more exciting :)
ReplyDeleteHahahaha well 15 minutes away sounds nice! And yup that's the perk of being far- times together are that much sweeter :)
